The Motocross World Championship is already at the start of its winter break – in Europe, the only event left on the calendar for November is the prestigious Supercross at the La Défense Arena on the outskirts of Paris. Behind the scenes, however, there is still plenty of activity amongst the manufacturers – with Yamaha and KTM in particular seeing significant changes.

As reported, the Japanese manufacturer is set to undergo a massive overhaul of its programme from 2027 onwards. In the MX2 class, Yamaha will no longer field a factory team, and the MXGP squad is also being reorganised, with the partnership with Kemea, amongst others, coming to an end. This is likely also the reason why there have been repeated rumours surrounding Tim Gajser regarding a possible move.

Back to the MX2 class, where the Latvian Reisulis brothers, Janis (18) and Karlis (20), finished 6th and 7th respectively last season – but currently have no places secured for next season. It has now been confirmed: all the signs point to Janis joining Red Bull KTM as Simon Längenfelder’s new team-mate in the Mattighofen-based factory team. Karlis could be signed to the Dutch Venrooy team on factory machinery.

Furthermore, it’s now confirmed at KTM that, within the De Carli family’s Red Bull KTM structure, Valerio Lata will compete in the MX2 class alongside MXGP ace Maxime Renaux next season.
