The MotoGP weekend at the Sachsenring is fast approaching. From 10 to 12 July, one of Germany’s biggest single-sport events will once again take centre stage. Record attendance figures have been achieved in recent years – and advance ticket sales are looking promising this time around too (as reported by SPEEDWEEK.com).

The race weekend in Hohenstein-Ernstthal kicks off next Wednesday with the popular Charity Run, followed by Family Day on Thursday. The aim is to further enhance the festival atmosphere for fans. The entertainment programme away from the racetrack has been expanded once again for 2026.

For the first time at the Sachsenring in the MotoGP class, the spacing between the motorbikes on the starting grid will be increased. This measure will be implemented for the first time at the German Grand Prix. To accommodate this, various painting and refinishing works had to be carried out on the grid on site. As a reminder: for safety reasons, the distance is being increased from three to four metres. The distance between the individual starting rows has been extended from nine to twelve metres. In addition, since the Dutch TT in Assen, the MotoGP class has been starting without a holeshot device – the front of the bikes is no longer lowered.

Behind the scenes, the ADAC, as organiser of this mega-event, has struck an interesting deal: in future, the ‘Schumacher Wines’ brand will act as the wine partner for the event at the Sachsenring. The brand is backed by former Formula 1 star and Sky TV pundit Ralf Schumacher. The products will be on sale at the Sachsenring in both the VIP and general public areas. The Schumi wine range includes white, rosé and red wines. In Germany, distribution is handled by Badischer Winzerkeller from Breisach am Rhein.
