MotoGP Live Ticker Silverstone: Will Ducati be outclassed by Aprilia again?

In Saturday’s MotoGP Sprint at Silverstone, Jorge Martin triumphed ahead of the impressive Ai Ogura and the struggling Marco Bezzecchi, meaning Aprilia bagged all three podium places. Martin extended his lead in the overall standings by a further three points over Ogura to 17.

World Champion Marc Marquez had no chance in the Sprint and was relegated to ninth place due to a lack of rear-wheel grip, meaning he picked up just a measly single World Championship point. The gap to Martin has grown to 29 points.

Pole-sitter Martin is also the favourite for the main race; alongside him on the front row are his Aprilia team-mates Raul Fernandez and Ogura from the Trackhouse team. On row 2 we see Fabio Di Giannantonio (VR46 Ducati), Bezzecchi (Aprilia) and Marc Marquez (Ducati Lenovo). Whilst Alex Marquez (Gresini Ducati), Franco Morbidelli (VR46 Ducati) and Pedro Acosta (Red Bull KTM) make up the third row, two-time MotoGP champion Pecco Bagnaia is down in 16th on the grid following a botched qualifying session, whilst Superbike star Toprak Razgatlioglu is as low as 22nd.
