The announcement of the contract extension was made on Thursday ahead of the race weekend. According to MotoGP, this reaffirms “the long-term commitment of both MotoGP and Silverstone to one of the championship’s most legendary events and ensures that the UK remains a key market for the sport.”

“The UK has a long tradition in motorcycling and remains one of the most important markets for MotoGP,” emphasised MotoGP CEO Carmelo Ezpeleta. “Since our return to Silverstone in 2010, we have built a strong partnership and together have created some unforgettable Grand Prix weekends in the UK. Silverstone provides a fantastic setting for MotoGP. Eleven different winners in the last eleven Grand Prix races at this circuit are testament to the quality, competitiveness and unpredictability of the races there. This contract extension gives us the opportunity to continue investing in the event, strengthen our presence in the UK and create even more value for our fans, teams, partners and organisers in the years to come.”
