Markus Venus: “We’ll do our best at the final to finish seventh in the World Championship”

Markus Venus and Thomas Hofer (ITW Racing) have every reason to be satisfied with their performance in the World Championship so far. The duo have finished in the top 10 in seven of the rounds held to date, with their best result being eighth place in the main race at Rijeka. It is therefore no surprise that they currently sit in eighth place in the provisional standings.

For the finale at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben, the chances are good that the German-Swiss pairing will move up one place in the final standings, as Todd Ellis and Emmanuelle Clément – who are just half a point ahead of them – are sitting out the World Championship finale, whilst Corey and Dayon Turner are lying in wait just six points behind them.

“We’ll be giving it our all at the final to finish seventh in the World Championship,” promises last year’s ninth-placed rider in an interview with SPEEDWEEK.com. “We’ve used the time between Assen and Oschersleben to tinker a bit more with the shock absorbers. Hopefully it’ll bring the improvement I’m hoping for.”

“The circuit at Oschersleben isn’t one of my favourites, but it’s all right. What’s more important to me is that the weather stays stable over the weekend. Either dry or wet – because what I really don’t like are mixed conditions, like we had in qualifying at Assen. I’m still lacking experience in that regard.”
