Sbirrazzuoli, who secured victory in the GTD class at the 2024 Motul Petit Le Mans with Conquest Racing, had long been active as a driver and coach in European and North American sports car racing, including in the GT World Challenge Europe and America, as well as the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship.

The Monegasque driver helped establish Dream Racing in the Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America and the IMSA GTD class, and in 2019 finished third in the Pro class of the Lamborghini World Finals with the Las Vegas-based team.

Having begun his professional career with AF Corse, Sbirrazzuoli returned to the team led by Amato Ferrari in 2021, competing primarily in Europe in the Italian GT, the International GT Open and the GT World Challenge Europe, before moving to Conquest Racing at the end of 2022, where he worked as a coach to Manny Franco.

The following year, he contested part of the Pirelli GT4 America season with the team led by Eric Bachelart, before competing in the Michelin Endurance Cup in 2024 and 2025 in Conquest’s Ferrari 296 GT3 – the highlight being a class victory at Petit Le Mans. He contested his final professional race at the 2025 12 Hours of Sebring, where he finished seventh in his class alongside Franco and Daniel Serra.

Sbirrazzuoli, who had only married his girlfriend Martina in June, died on Thursday, his 39th birthday.

AF Corse paid an emotional tribute to Sbirrazzuoli: “You were a highly talented, determined and professional driver, with the passion and the will to win that only those who truly love motor racing possess. But you were so much more than that: an authentic, respectful and fun-loving person who knew how to inspire healthy enthusiasm and live out your passion for motorsport in your very own way. It was a privilege to work and dream together. Your race ended far too soon. The memory of you will live on forever. We send our heartfelt condolences to your wife, your parents and all your loved ones.”
