Matt Campbell to leave Porsche at the end of the year - switch to Ford?

Matt Campbell is leaving Porsche at the end of the year. At his own request, the Australian is taking on a new challenge in motorsport. The rumour mill is linking Campbell with a move to Ford, where he is set to lead the brand's new LMDh prototype programme.

The 2017 Porsche Junior of the Year and reigning IMSA champion has once again proven the strength of the Porsche junior programme - he has developed from a promising talent to a championship-winning works driver. Over the years, Matt Campbell has made a significant contribution to Porsche motorsport, not only through his success on the track, but also through his dedication, professionalism and team spirit. He has become an integral part of the Porsche motorsport family.

In addition to his title in the GTP class of the IMSA WeatherTech SportsCar Championship in 2025, Campbell has achieved many successes with the brand from Weissach: in 2022 he won the GTD Pro title in the IMSA championship and won the FIA Motorsport Games in the GT Sprint classification in the same year. In 2019 and 2024, he celebrated overall victories at the 12h Bathurst. In 2018, he won the 24h Le Mans in the GTE Am class. Before his international career, Campbell became champion in the Australian Porsche Carrera Cup in 2016.
