Superbike fans will be familiar with this: at the season opener overseas, only the top category and the Supersport World Championship take to the track, whilst on race weekends in Europe, the supporting series – Sportbike and/or WorldWCR – round off the programme. Occasionally, national series or the R3 World Cup also take place as part of the World Championship.
The schedule for the eleventh round is therefore highly unusual, as it comprises just two World Championship series: Superbike and Supersport. The only additional event is the Yamaha Cup, for which the weekend at the Circuit do Estoril marks the season finale.
The start times for the main sessions follow the master schedule laid down in the regulations. The Superpole for the Supersport class takes place on Friday at 4 pm, whilst that for the Superbike category is on Saturday at 11.15 am.
The main races for SSP and SBK will take place on Saturday and Sunday at 2.00 pm and 3.30 pm respectively. The thrilling Superpole Race will be held on Sunday morning at 11.10 am.
