Defending champion Max Anstie (Yamaha) remains unbeaten in Calgary

The SX2 Supercross World Championship kicked off in Calgary (Canada): German Stark-Varg works rider Brian Hsu was able to make the most of the torque and advantages of his electric bike, particularly at the start and during Superpole. Whilst his rivals, riding bikes with internal combustion engines, struggled with performance losses due to the altitude of over 1,000 metres, he faced no such disadvantages. Hsu was able to fully exploit the potential of his electric bike, finishing the Superpole in 4th place and subsequently winning all three heats. In the first sprint race, Hsu was pushed back to fifth place. In the second sprint, he finished third, but fell back in the final.

Max Anstie secures a hat-trick

With victories in all three races, Britain’s Max Anstie (Yamaha) secured the opening round win and, combined with his Superpole victory in Calgary, the maximum number of points ahead of Stark works rider Michael Hicks (3-2-3) and Cameron McAdoo (Kawasaki, 4-4-2).

Nico Koch in 12th place

Nico Koch from Braunschweig finished the race with a 14-15-8 result, placing 12th overall.
