Preview and schedule for the Supercross World Championships in Calgary featuring Nico Koch and Brian Hsu

This coming Saturday, 8 August, the 2026 FIM Supercross World Championships get underway at McMahon Stadium in Calgary. In the SX2 category, two German riders will be on the starting grid: Nico Koch will be racing for the ‘595 Racing KTM’ team and Brian Hsu will be competing on a Stark electric bike.

SX1: Jason Anderson returns

Defending champion Jason Anderson (Suzuki) is set to return to racing following his self-imposed break (police intervention following an incident of violence). Other US contenders, including Cooper Webb, Christian Craig, Justin Hill, Colt Nichols and Vince Friese, have also entered the race. Webb will contest the first World Championship round in Canada on a Yamaha, and the rest of the season on a KTM. From Europe, Greg Aranda, Jordi Tixier and Jorge Saragoza will be taking part. Dean Wilson has been nominated as a replacement rider for the injured Joey Savatgy.

SX2 with Koch and Hsu

The British defending champion Max Anstie is considered the favourite in the SX2 class. He will face strong opposition from the American Cameron McAdoo.

Australian Jake Cannon, known from the EMX250 European Championship, is on the entry list. Cannon will not be competing in Canada as he wishes to focus on the EMX. The Australian won the EMX250 overall title this year in the Teutschenthal basin.
