KTM unveils the new 450 SMR. The 2027 model year features a new design and is set to offer even more comprehensive protection thanks to the new premium manufacturer’s warranty.

“The technically advanced yet uncompromisingly authentic KTM 450 SMR remains the benchmark in the competitive Supermoto segment,” stated the press release for the new Supermoto, which KTM unveiled on 1 September.

The 2027 model year KTM 450 SMR is equipped with the familiar high-revving 450cc engine. Various riding modes, traction control, launch control and the SUTER anti-hopping clutch are designed to ensure that power is delivered to the tarmac in a controlled and efficient manner at all times.

The new package complies with the FIM noise limit of 109 dB and is securely anchored to the chassis thanks to reinforced mounting points. The tried-and-tested frame is said to offer precise feedback, high stability and playful handling. The racing DNA is evident in every detail of the KTM 450 SMR. From the ergonomics and consistent mass centralisation right through to the strikingly shaped fairing components, which enable a precise and active riding position.

The further development of the speedy 450s is also said to have focused on ease of maintenance. This includes, amongst other things, the easily accessible airbox and the bolted radiator cap. The WP XACT suspension, featuring a 48 mm closed-cartridge fork and an optimised rear shock, offers comprehensive adjustment options and can be tuned to a wide variety of conditions – grippy race track surfaces, loose terrain or typical supermoto jumps. Brembo brakes ensure the necessary stopping power.

Having secured the 2025 FIM Supermoto World Championship title in the S1GP class with Lukas Höllbacher, the KTM 450 SMR ranks among the most successful and competitive motorbikes in its category. “With its striking orange paintwork and black hand guards, rims, silencer and seat, it exudes pure racing DNA,” promises KTM. An extensive KTM PowerParts range would also offer numerous options for customisation.

Every KTM comes with a manufacturer’s warranty as standard. For the 2027 model year, this cover is extended by the new Premium Manufacturer’s Warranty. “This means even greater peace of mind and confidence, at no extra cost,” says KTM.
