2026 Supermoto Austrian Championship, Bad Fischau: No change at the top

The sweltering heat clearly sapped the energy from quite a few attacks, although the battle between the Husqvarna riders Thomas Hiebl and Andreas Buschberger in the second race was certainly worth watching. The fight for victory went Buschberger’s way on both occasions.

Hiebl and Rudi Bauer (GASGAS) shared the points fairly. First, the Austrian GASGAS rider finished second ahead of the German Husqvarna star, then the two swapped places, leaving the Hungarian Balazs Suranyi with just two fourth-place finishes.

There were no changes at the top of the championship standings. Buschberger currently leads by a 26-point margin, Bauer is second, whilst Hiebl has closed the gap slightly on Balazs Suranyi, who is currently third in the ÖM.
