World Championship bronze medallist Jaume Masia (Ducati) as a development coach – in China

Regular readers of SPEEDWEEK.com will be aware of the efforts being made by Chinese companies (CF Moto, ZX Moto, QJ Motor and Kove) to gain a foothold in the production-based world championship and to promote motorcycling in China. HFK Tech’s involvement is very much in the same vein. HFK specialises in navigation systems and dash cams for motorbikes, but also runs a racing team and is committed to promoting young talent.

The latter is also supported by Jaume Masià. At the invitation of the HFK Racing team, the Spaniard travelled to China for a week at the end of June. It was the Orelac-Ducati rider’s first trip to the emerging nation. During his stay, the current third-placed rider in the 2026 Supersport World Championship took part in training sessions with the team’s young riders and offered them advice and support – though there was plenty of time for sightseeing too.

“I am very, very happy and grateful for this opportunity to make my own small contribution to the fantastic work being done with these young Chinese riders,” emphasised the 2023 Moto3 World Champion. “It’s a privilege to pass on my experience and help the next generation develop, both on and off the track. Thank you very much, China, for this warm welcome.”

Jaume Masia isn’t the only top rider to get involved abroad

It is neither unusual nor something to be criticised when top riders such as Masia travel to other countries to help develop talent and promote motorcycling. Jorge Navarro, for example, has been involved in Thailand, whilst Michael van der Mark has done the same in Kuwait.
