Supersport surprise ZX Moto: Intensive test programme during the summer break

Founded just two years ago, ZX Moto has taken the 2026 Supersport World Championship by storm with a competitive bike and Valentin Debise as a six-time winner. And that’s not all.

ZX Moto has got everything right for its entry into the 2026 Supersport World Championship. Company founder Zhang Xue based the development of the 820RR on currently successful concepts and teamed up with Evan Bros Racing – one of the most successful Supersport teams of recent years – for the debut. And when it came to selecting riders, the Chinese entrepreneur put his trust in the Italian team, which signed two riders with very different styles: Valentin Debise and Federico Caricasulo.

After eight of twelve rounds, Debise sits second in the World Championship standings with six wins and seven further top-10 finishes. The fact that things don’t go perfectly every race weekend is in the nature of such a young project – as was the case most recently at Donington Park, where eighth and tenth places were the best the team could manage.

“Unfortunately, I didn’t manage to secure my first podium finish in England again, but I still see a lot of positives,” said the Frenchman in his YouTube blog. “Above all, it’s great that we now have two months to work with: the team is heading back to the workshop and has planned extensive testing on specialised test benches. If there’s time, we might even head into the wind tunnel. So there’s really a lot on the agenda, plus further testing.”

Incidentally, the ZX-Moto project is so new that the race riders don’t even have a production bike at their disposal yet. Progress is being made here too.

“My training bike will be ready soon, so I can keep in the swing of things,” revealed the 34-year-old from Albi. “So I think the break will be really positive for us. We can get on with all the things we haven’t had time for so far.”
