At Triumph Motorcycles, the abbreviation ‘TFC’ stands for Triumph Factory Custom. These are limited-run small series of motorbikes that have been hand-finished using high-quality components. Following the Thruxton, the mighty Rocket 3 and two bobber variants, Triumph now brings us the fifth small-batch model from its in-house custom workshop: the Triumph Speed Twin 1200 TFC, limited to 750 units. This is evident from the laser-etched serial number on the fork bridge, which has been milled from a solid block. To emphasise its collector’s value, Triumph supplies each motorbike with a certificate signed by CEO Nick Bloor, an indoor cover and a waterproof seat cover.
The TFC variant is based on the sporty Speed Twin 1200 RS. The in-line twin-cylinder engine with a 270° crankpin offset is taken directly from the standard production model, apart from the titanium silencers from Akrapovic. The performance figures remain unchanged at 104 PS at 7,750 rpm and 112 Nm at 4,250 rpm.
The suspension has been upgraded with an adjustable 43 mm Öhlins USD fork (standard: Marzocchi). The standard RS also features adjustable Öhlins rear shock absorbers with external reservoirs, as do the Brembo M4.30 brake calipers.
To fully exploit the dynamic potential of the Öhlins suspension, the ergonomics have been radically modified. Instead of the classic tubular handlebars, stub handlebars clamped beneath the triple clamp have been fitted. Together with the rear-set footrests, this results in a front-wheel-oriented, sporty riding position. The rider takes their place on a stylish solo seat made of black leather and non-slip Alcantara suede.
This sophisticated look is enhanced by carbon fibre components. The mudguards, side panels, chain guard and heel guards are made from high-gloss painted carbon fibre.
The electronics package includes a bidirectional quickshifter. ABS and traction control operate in accordance with the lean angle. You can choose between three riding modes (Sport, Road, Rain), which allow you to adjust the throttle response and the intervention thresholds of the rider-assistance systems. All information is displayed on a round instrument cluster that combines a classic LCD display with a colour TFT screen.
Visually, the TFC pulls out all the stops. The ‘Obsidian Gold’ paint finish appears deep black. However, as soon as the sun’s rays hit the fuel tank, millions of golden metallic particles sparkle. A hand-painted, marbled gold stripe runs across the fuel tank, a testament to craftsmanship of the highest order.
Worldwide deliveries of the special edition, limited to 750 units, will begin in October 2026. In Germany, the Triumph Speed Twin 1200 TFC costs €20,895 (a surcharge of €4,300 on the standard RS model); in Switzerland, CHF 21,495; and in Austria, €23,795. Given its high collector’s value, a swift decision to purchase is advisable.
