Yamaha MT-125: Refreshed design for the 2027 model year
Yamaha has given the MT-125 a refined design for the 2027 model year, drawing inspiration from the larger models in the MT range. As part of this, the ergonomics have been revised.

The focus of the facelift is on the revised styling. A newly shaped fuel tank and a redesigned seat elongate the silhouette of the 125. The narrower seat is designed to improve knee grip and offer the rider greater freedom of movement. The fuel tank flows into black textured side panels featuring a transparent, dark-tinted pattern with a glitch effect and the MT logo.
The front end has also been redesigned. Behind a dark-tinted, transparent cover sit newly designed blade-shaped LED position lights and LED indicators.
In terms of chassis and powertrain, the Japanese manufacturer has stuck with the tried-and-tested setup: the liquid-cooled single-cylinder engine with variable valve actuation (VVA) is still mounted in a steel bridge-type frame. The seat height remains unchanged at 810 mm.
For the instrument cluster, Yamaha has opted for a five-inch TFT colour display. The smartphone can be paired via the company’s own, free MyRide app, providing turn-by-turn navigation as well as the ability to manage calls and media playback from the cockpit. Telemetry data such as lean angle and distance travelled are also recorded.
For the 2027 model year, Yamaha is expanding the colour range to include the ‘Redline White’ variant (pearl white/bright red) with a two-tone seat and specific graphics. The existing colour schemes ‘Ice Storm’ (light grey/light blue), ‘Icon Blue’ (blue) and ‘Tech Black’ (black) remain in the range, complemented by newly designed lettering on the sides of the fuel tank.
Deliveries of the 2027 model year Yamaha MT-125 are scheduled to begin in time for the start of the season in the first quarter of 2027. The price has not yet been announced.
