Marcel Schrötter, riding his BMW for Team GERT56 by RS Speedbikes, managed to keep the Euro Moto Superbike title race open right up until the penultimate round despite his knee injury. In the end, he finished as runner-up.

After securing pole position, he went on to win the first race at the Euro Moto finale at the Hockenheimring. In the second race, he didn’t win, but put in a spectacular comeback.
