GT4 driver Luca Link makes his GT Masters debut with FK Performance Motorsport

The penultimate round of the ADAC GT Masters takes place at the Salzburgring. This is the second time the long-established GT3 series has visited the ultra-fast circuit in Nesselgraben, where a number of modifications were carried out over the winter. Nevertheless, the track is unforgiving of any mistakes, and the cramped paddock presents further challenges. FK Performance Motorsport is fielding three BMW M4 GT3 Evo cars.

Leyton Fourie and Tim Zimmermann are currently second in the championship standings ahead of the event on the outskirts of Mozart’s city. They are just one point behind the championship leaders. They head to the Salzburgring with fond memories, having won a race there last year. They now aim to repeat that success and gain ground in the title race.

Fabio Rauer and Storm Gjerdrum are currently seventh in the championship standings. The young Norwegian made his debut in the ADAC GT3 Championship on this circuit last year. Together, the two youngsters have already put in strong performances this year and are keen to build on that.

In the Bremen-based team’s third car, Luca Link will make his ADAC GT Masters debut at the Salzburgring; he normally competes with the team in the ADAC GT4 Germany series. Link will share the car with Joseph Ellerine from South Africa. Link impressed during a test in the BMW M4 GT3 Evo at the Nürburgring.

“It’s a huge step in my career to now be able to compete in the ADAC GT Masters race weekend at the Salzburgring,” says Luca Link. “Following the successful test at the Nürburgring, travelling to the Salzburgring for the first GT3 race of my career is a major challenge, but I’ll do everything in my power to achieve the best possible result there for the team and myself. I’m really looking forward to taking on this challenge.”

Ahead of the event at the Salzburgring, Leyton Fourie leads the ADAC GT Masters’ ‘Road to DTM’ standings. The ADAC will sponsor the winning driver and cover the entry fees for the upcoming DTM season. Furthermore, the team holds a comfortable lead in the team standings.

Two endurance races with two pit stops, including driver changes, will take place at the Salzburgring. During the 80-minute race, tyres will be changed once and refuelling will take place twice. Both races will get underway at 2.05 pm on Saturday and Sunday respectively. Both races can be watched via the official YouTube stream – Sport1 will also be broadcasting Saturday’s race on German free-to-air television.
