A look at the provisional standings in the FIA WEC LMGT3 class

As is well known, the FIA WEC consists of two classes. Alongside the Hypercars, which compete amongst themselves for overall victory in the races, the LMGT3 cars also take part in the World Endurance Championship. The nine manufacturers – Aston Martin, BMW, Corvette, Ferrari, Ford, Lexus, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche – are each represented by two cars in the field. However, each car must also have at least one driver in its line-up who holds FIA Bronze status.

Following the Lone Star Le Mans race in Austin, Texas, Jonny Edgar leads the standings with 76 points. Nicky Catsburg is in second place with 72 points, and Ben Keating is third with 54 points. The exciting thing is that all three are drivers of TF Sport’s #33 Corvette Z06 LMGT3.R. The difference in points is due to Keating having missed Imola and Spa-Francorchamps – and Catsburg being unable to compete in Brazil. Nevertheless, all three have scored more points than the rest of the field.

Their closest challengers are François Hériau, Simon Mann and Alessio Rovera, who drive a Ferrari 296 LMGT3 Evo for Vista AF Corse. The trio (like Ben Keating) have 54 points to their name. Close behind them are Richard Lietz, Riccardo Pera and Yasser Shahin. The Porsche 911 GT3 R LMGT3 trio from The Bend Manthey have collected 49 points. Jonny Adam and Gray Newell, in the Aston Martin Vantage AMR LMGT3 from the Heart of Racing Team, are level on points.

The team standings paint a similar picture: TF Sport leads the way with 76 points. In second place is Vista AF Corse (with the #21 Ferrari) on 54 points, ahead of The Bend Manthey (Porsche) on 49 points and the Heart of Racing Team (with the #23 Aston Martin), also on 49 points. Manthey DK Engineering (Porsche) rounds off the top five with 48 points. The next race in the FIA WEC is scheduled for 27 September 2026 at Fuji (Japan).
