Euro Moto Superbike colleagues congratulate Markus Reiterberger on his World Championship title

There certainly won’t be any gifts being handed out this weekend at the Hockenheimring for the final round of the 2026 Euro Moto. But there’s probably no one on the starting grid who wouldn’t be happy to see Markus Reiterberger take the Endurance World Championship title.

“I’m absolutely delighted for him. Especially after last year – it was absolutely heart-wrenching that they didn’t win the title, so close to the end. Of course, I’m also thinking of Marvin Fritz; he’s from round here, just like me. But that’s just how it is in motor racing. One man’s joy is another’s sorrow. Markus, BMW and the whole team have worked really hard for this over the last few years. It’s also great, of course, to have a rider of that calibre in the Euro Moto series and to race against him, with Markus’s experience and standard. I hope we can do justice to it this weekend and celebrate properly too.”

But unfortunately, that didn’t quite work out. Still, I think it’s great to battle it out with Markus in Euro Moto. Bringing a World Championship title like that to Euro Moto is also a real asset for the championship. Hopefully, the championship can use this to promote itself – having riders like that on the grid.
