Camden Mc Lellan (Triumph) remained unbeatable in Lommel, Längenfelder finished 3rd

Grand Prix of Flanders in Lommel, Round 14 of the 2026 MX2 Motocross World Championship: MX2 World Championship leader Guillem Farres (Triumph) took the holeshot in the decisive second race of the MX2 class, just ahead of German Red Bull KTM factory rider Simon Längenfelder.

Längenfelder showed fighting spirit

Simon Längenfelder first had to hold off Liam Everts, who had moved into second place on the first lap. The German remained within striking distance of the leading Spaniard right from the start. On lap 7, he attacked Farres with a block pass, much like he had done a week earlier at Loket, but this time it wasn’t he who went down; instead, Farres stumbled and was briefly forced off the track. Shortly afterwards, Camden Mc Lellan closed in from behind, first overtaking Längenfelder and then, shortly afterwards, his team-mate Farres. With the bigger picture of the championship in mind, the World Championship leader offered little resistance, as the South African had been the fastest and most consistent rider all weekend.

A total Triumph triumph

Triumph works rider Camden Mc Lellan won the second race with a 6-second lead over Guillem Farres and Simon Längenfelder, and the riders finished in that exact order on the Grand Prix podium in Lommel. With victories in the qualifying race and both main races, the South African secured the maximum 60 World Championship points in Lommel, and with a 1-2 finish, the Triumph works team celebrated a complete victory.

Sacha Coenen limits the damage

Red Bull KTM factory rider Sacha Coenen, who competed with a collarbone that had been broken three weeks earlier and surgically repaired, and who had to mount a comeback in the first race following a crash, got off to a good start in the second race and finished in 8th place. With a 7-8 result, he finished sixth overall, but lost crucial points to World Championship leader Guillem Farres and now trails by 47 points in second place after 13 World Championship rounds.

Points for Valentin Kees

Kosak-KTM rider Valentin Kees, who had retired from the first race following a collision with Sacha Coenen, finished the second race in 15th place, thereby securing 6 World Championship points.

Standings at the top of the World Championship

World Championship leader Guillem Farres scored a total of 50 points (8+20+22) in Lommel, whilst his closest rival, Sacha Coenen, scored 36 (7+15+14). Guillem Farres was thus able to extend his lead in the World Championship standings by 14 points (from 33 to 47 points) over Sacha Coenen. Camden Mc Lellan, in third place, reduced his deficit to the top from 70 to 60 points, whilst Simon Längenfelder, in fourth place, reduced his deficit from 71 to 70 points, as he scored one point more than Guillem Farres overall in Lommel after finishing second in the qualifying race.

Next stop: Uddevalla

The World Championship riders now have a week off. The 15th round will take place on 15–16 August in Uddevalla, Sweden.
