Glenn Coldenhoff (Yamaha) will compete for Team Netherlands in the MX2 class at the MXoN

Following Kay de Wolf’s (Husqvarna) injury-enforced withdrawal, the Dutch Federation had to make some last-minute changes: Glenn Coldenhoff, who had actually already retired from World Championship racing, will compete for the Dutch national team alongside Jeffrey Herlings and Roan van de Moosdijk at the Motocross of Nations in Ernée.

From the World Championship to Brazil

Glenn Coldenhoff finished the 2025 MXGP season in third place in the World Championship standings, but was not offered a place in an MXGP works team for 2026. He moved to Yamaha Racing Brazil. Last weekend, he was crowned MX1 champion in Brazil. At the end of August, he contested his (planned) farewell Grand Prix at the MXGP of Arnhem. The 35-year-old, a six-time Grand Prix winner, showed that he is still among the best in the world, securing an excellent fifth place overall with a 7-4 result.

Nations winner and veteran

For Glenn Coldenhoff, this will be his 14th nomination for the Motocross of Nations. In 2019, he won with the Dutch team in front of a home crowd in Assen. Coldenhoff won both races there and played a decisive role in the team’s success.

Coldenhoff to compete in MX2

Originally, Roan van de Moosdijk was due to switch to the 250cc class and compete in MX2. This plan has now been scrapped: Roan van de Moosdijk will compete in MXGP and Glenn Coldenhoff will switch back to the smaller bike.

Despite the circumstances, Team NL – featuring world champion Jeffrey Herlings (Honda), ADAC MX Masters champion Roan van de Moosdijk (KTM) and Brazilian motocross champion Glenn Coldenhoff (Yamaha), is undoubtedly among the favourites in the battle for the 2026 Chamberlain Trophy.
