Spain fields its A-team at the MXoN in Ernée: Prado, Fernández and Farres

Without the Australian Lawrence brothers, US rising star Haiden Deegan, Ken Roczen and Simon Längenfelder, the cards will certainly be reshuffled on 4 October in Ernée. This boosts the chances of teams such as France, Belgium and Spain. Unlike Germany, Spain can field an A-team for the MXoN in Ernée:

Good prospects of success

MX2 rider Guillem Farres (Triumph) is on course for his first World Championship title and could line up in France as the newly crowned world champion. Four-time world champion Jorge Prado (KTM) has established himself as a solid podium contender in the US and is currently in top form. Open rider Ruben Fernandez (Honda) is ranked 6th overall in the MXGP. As it is the team’s collective performance that counts at the MXoN, Spain is clearly among the title contenders.

Can Spain finally triumph?

In the 79-year history of the MXoN, Spain has never won the most prestigious race of the year. Their best result was fourth place: in 2002 on home soil in Bellpuig. The Spaniards missed out on the podium by just one point on that occasion. In 2024 at Matterley Basin, Spain finished fourth once again, this time with Jorge Prado, Rubén Fernández and Oriol Oliver. In 2025, Jorge Prado was unable to take part in the MXoN due to his contractual situation with Kawasaki. This year, everything seems to be falling into place. Perhaps Spain will then also feature on the list of MXoN winners:
