WSX Supercross World Championship with a new global live streaming service

The FIM Supercross World Championship kicks off on 8 August in Calgary (Canada). The new streaming platform and the team of presenters have now been unveiled. The races can be watched live and ‘on demand’ via the new streaming platform, W+.

In the past, the streaming service via the recast.tv portal was – to put it mildly – somewhat confusing, as payment was made using ‘credits’ within the ‘Recast Wallet’. This is set to change in future.

W+ will go live before the start of the new season and is set to be available worldwide – subject to possible changes. The following options are available:

Presenters for a young audience

Presenters Daniel Blair and Kristen Beat will be joined by Jase Macalpine, founder of the successful podcast series ‘Gypsy Tales’. The broadcasts will be supplemented by background reports and interviews. Formats such as ‘Kickstart’ (pre-event reports) will continue. The qualifying broadcasts and the ‘Debrief’ programme are also set to be available on W+.

Daniel Blair

Daniel Blair returns as an expert and presenter. The former Supercross professional is one of the most respected media figures in the scene. Blair is known for his technical expertise, his precise analyses and his ability to explain even complex racing situations in a way that is understandable to both die-hard fans and newcomers.

As well as working as a commentator and presenter, Blair is General Manager of the ClubMX training facility, where he coaches some of the sport’s most promising young riders. He also hosts ‘The Daniel Blair Show’ and the ‘Main Event Moto’ podcast. This makes him one of the most influential voices in the modern off-road media landscape.

Kristen Beat

Emmy Award-winning presenter Kristen Beat remains part of the World Supercross team. She will continue to bring viewers closer to the riders, teams and behind-the-scenes stories. She has previously worked for FOX Sports, NBC Sports, ABC and ESPN and is regarded as one of the most versatile motorsport presenters.

Jase Macalpine

Macalpine was already on hand at selected events last season. He is one of the best-known media personalities in motocross and action sports.

He is best known as the founder of the ‘Gypsy Tales’ platform. Through in-depth, lengthy interviews with some of the biggest names in motocross, Supercross and action sports, he has built up a loyal fan base. His unique perspective, his close connections within the scene and his authentic manner have made him a respected voice amongst riders and fans alike. As part of his new role, Macalpine will bring fresh perspectives, exclusive interviews and additional background stories to W+’s race broadcasts.
