Ankle injury: Kay de Wolf (Husqvarna) ruled out due to injury

The Dutch Husqvarna works rider crashed last Saturday during qualifying for the Italian Grand Prix in Montevarchi. Although he started the qualifying race, he was forced to retire after two laps. He was later diagnosed with an ankle injury, which has forced him to take a break.

Aiming for a podium finish in Lommel

“It’s a real disappointment, because the crash was completely beyond my control,” explained de Wolf. “We’d built up good momentum in the final laps. At the moment, the focus is on rehabilitation. I now have to undergo a few more check-ups and get some rest. My aim is to be back fighting for a podium place in Lommel. I’ll do everything I can to come back healthy and fit.”
