US trip: Pedro Acosta visits NASCAR – and pops into Trackhouse

Red Bull KTM rider Pedro Acosta used the MotoGP summer break to pop over to the US. His itinerary included a meeting with his new eyewear sponsor, M-Experiment, a visit to the NASCAR race in Indianapolis, and a few days in Florida, where he met KTM motocross talent Julien Beaumer.

In Indianapolis, Acosta was a guest of NASCAR driver Jesse Love, who acts as a brand ambassador for M-Experiment in the US. The Richard Childress Racing (RCR) driver took the Spaniard to his team’s workshop after the event. There, Acosta discussed technical details with the engineers and mechanics. The NASCAR team was particularly impressed by the roughly 300 PS that a MotoGP bike delivers to the rear wheel on the track.

The Spaniard also took part in a NASCAR tyre-change challenge, demonstrating his usual ambitious approach. The two-time world champion didn’t miss the chance to try out the seat in a NASCAR car either. Acosta was so enthusiastic that he even suggested a test drive in the V8 racing car. Things took a more relaxed turn afterwards with a water-skiing outing together with the NASCAR crew.

During his trip to the US, Acosta also stopped off at the NASCAR team Trackhouse Racing. There he met rising star Connor Zilisch, who, like Acosta, is part of the Red Bull athlete programme and is also supported by M-Experiment. The two even swapped helmets during their meeting.

On the sporting front, Acosta’s focus is now back on MotoGP. Following the summer break, the World Championship resumes at Silverstone from 7 to 9 August. At the halfway point of the season, the Spaniard lies seventh in the World Championship standings. The future Ducati factory rider is currently 60 points behind championship leader Jorge Martin.
