The 24 Hours of Dubai will not take place in 2027 – the 24 Hours of Kyalami will be held in January instead

The unstable situation in the Middle East is having further repercussions on international motorsport. In a team update, Creventic announced that the 24H Series Middle East will not take place. This affects the 24h Dubai as well as the planned 6h and 12h races in Abu Dhabi.

The 2027 edition of the 24h Dubai was scheduled for 8 to 10 January. The race has been cancelled. Instead, Creventic will organise a 24-hour race at Kyalami in South Africa on the same weekend. Following three rounds of the 2019–2021 Intercontinental GT Challenge, this will mark the return of international GT racing to the former South African Grand Prix circuit.

To allow the teams to familiarise themselves with the circuit, which features corners with evocative names such as Crowthorne and Mineshaft, Creventic is organising three days of testing for the participants during the race week.

The races in Abu Dhabi will be postponed to a later date.
