DTM car specifications for the Sachsenring to be adjusted

As the DTM’s technical partner, the SRO is adjusting the car classifications ahead of the second day of racing. BMW and Porsche are being held back. Audi, Ford, Lamborghini and McLaren are receiving a better classification. The remaining cars remain unchanged.

The Audi R8 LMS GT3, in which Simon Connor Primm is making a guest appearance for Seyffarth Motorsport, is permitted to reduce its weight by ten kilograms. The minimum weight is now 1,295 kilograms.

Following its victory the previous day, the BMW M4 GT3 must add ten kilograms. The minimum weight is now 1,310 kilograms. In addition, the maximum boost pressure is reduced from 2.46 bar to 2.44 bar, meaning the car produces less power.

The Ford Mustang GT3 gains more engine power. The two restrictors on the powerful V8 engine are being increased from 38 millimetres to 40 millimetres, allowing more oxygen into the combustion chamber and thus enabling the engine to deliver more power.

The Lamborghini Temerario GT3 also gains more power. The maximum boost pressure rises from 1.74 bar to 1.78 bar.

The McLaren 720S GT3 is permitted to shed ten kilograms. The minimum weight is therefore 1,290 kilograms, making the car the lightest in the DTM field.

The Porsche 911 GT3 R must add a full 15 kilograms before the second day of racing on the undulating circuit. This brings the minimum weight up to 1,345 kilograms, making the car – alongside the Mercedes-AMG GT3 – the heaviest on the grid.
