Antonio Cairoli is set to compete at the Keiheuval Masters in Mol this weekend

The World Championship riders have the weekend off. Some of them will be taking part in the ‘Flanders Masters Motocross’ at Keiheuval in Mol, Belgium. Jeffrey Herlings (HRC), Tim Gajser (Yamaha), Kay de Wolf (Husqvarna) and Romain Febvre (Kawasaki) have confirmed their participation. Glenn Coldenhoff, who is competing in Brazil this year, is also on the MXGP entry list. However, the ‘icing on the cake’ is likely to be nine-time Motocross World Champion Antonio Cairoli.

Cairoli will be competing in the 250cc class

The Sicilian will be riding a 250cc Ducati this time round and will be up against riders such as Liam Everts (Husqvarna) and the two Latvian Reisulis brothers. For the Coenen brothers, who ride for the host club, the race would be a home race, but it is highly unlikely that Sacha will ride, as he needs to continue recovering from the collarbone fracture he sustained in the USA in order to be fit for next week’s race in Uddevalla.

In memory of Eric Geboers

The Keiheuval Motocross is also a memorial event in honour of the Belgian multi-champion Eric Geboers, who passed away in 2018. Further information can be found on the Keiheuval Masters website.
