Still not fit – Vinales will also be stood in for by Espargaro at Misano

Pol Espargaro had stepped in for the long-term injured Maverick Viñales at Silverstone and Aragon. On 4 September, the Tech3 team announced that the KTM test rider would also be taking the reins of the RC16 at Misano. Viñales is still recovering from the shoulder injury he sustained in his crash at the Sachsenring in 2025.

“Having stepped in for the last two races, Pol will be back in action next week at Misano!” said a statement from the Tech3 team. “Maverick is continuing his recovery and hopes to be back on the bike in time for Spielberg. We wish him a smooth recovery and look forward to having him back in the pits soon.”
