The ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring marks a significant milestone in its ongoing media development: the partnership with RTL Deutschland for free-to-air TV broadcasts has been extended for a further four years. This means that, from 2027 up to and including 2030, RTL Deutschland will remain the exclusive free-to-air TV partner of Germany’s largest motorsport event and one of the world’s most significant endurance races. The agreement covers free-to-air broadcasting rights for the entire German-speaking region, as well as Luxembourg and Liechtenstein.

Live coverage to be further expanded

With this contract extension, the 24h Nürburgring’s presence on free-to-air TV is also growing. NITRO remains the home of this endurance classic and will continue to show the race in full with its comprehensive live coverage. Selected sections will also be broadcast on RTL in future. The live coverage will include pre-race coverage, the start and the opening laps of the race, as well as the decisive final phase comprising the last few laps, the finish and the podium ceremony. Highlights of the race will also be shown on RTL.

“With this extension, we are taking the next step in the very positive development of the 24h Nürburgring,” says Walter Hornung, race director of the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring and sporting director of ADAC North Rhine-Westphalia. “This early contract extension reflects the success of recent years, which has brought us rising viewer figures and growing media interest. RTL Deutschland is recognising this development with its long-term commitment to our event – we are delighted about this. At the same time, this decision spurs us on to consistently continue along this successful path.”

Oliver Schablitzki, Executive Vice President of Channels, Windowing & Planning at RTL Deutschland, adds: “The 24h Nürburgring is one of the most fascinating motorsport events in the world and has been a fixture on NITRO since 2016. We are therefore all the more delighted that, with the additional live coverage on RTL, we will be bringing the fascination of the ‘Green Hell’ to even more people in future. We are particularly proud that we will be covering the 24 Hours of Nürburgring until at least 2030 and extending our partnership to a total of 15 years.”

Planning certainty for participants and partners

Skyline Management GmbH is responsible for the media coverage of the 24h Nürburgring and has been involved in the collaboration with RTL Deutschland since its inception. Matthias Wurm, Managing Director of the 24h media partner, is also delighted: “We are truly delighted that we have not only extended our long-standing and trusting partnership with RTL Deutschland for the long term, but have also been able to take the media coverage of the ADAC RAVENOL 24 Hours of Nürburgring to a whole new level with the expanded TV concept. This underlines the positive developments we have achieved together over recent years, and we are very proud that, thanks to RTL, our race will be showcased so prominently on German television in future.”
