Disqualification: Abt Lamborghini loses second place at 24h Nürburgring

Team Abt, who finished second in the ADAC RAVENOL 24h Nürburgring 2026, will be disqualified retrospectively due to a technical infringement. This was decided by the stewards at a meeting on 12 June 2026. The Lamborghini racing team from the Allgäu region has decided not to appeal against the decision.

The following cars move up so that the Aston Martin Vantage AMR GT3 EVO of Walkenhorst Motorsport with Christian Krognes, Mattia Drudi and Nicki Thiim now follows behind the victorious Mercedes-AMG Team RAVENOL with Maro Engel, Luca Stolz, Fabian Schiller and Maxime Martin (Mercedes-AMG GT3). New in third place: ROWE Racing with Daniel Harper, Max Hesse, Sheldon van der Linde and Dries Vanthoor (BMW M4 GT3 EVO).

During a technical inspection, the Lamborghini with the #84 (with Luca Engstler, Mirko Bortolotti and Patric Niederhauser) was found to have too much power. This was outside the tolerance range prescribed by the Balance of Performance (BoP).

A total of six GT3 cars in the SP9 class were checked in the days following the race as part of a routine follow-up inspection. The other five cars from Aston Martin, BMW, Ford, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche were scrutinised on a chassis dynamometer to measure performance, among other things, and there were no complaints.
