This weekend, the Superbike event is taking place at Donington Park. At the same time, the legendary ‘Goodwood Festival of Speed’ is being held in England from 9 to 12 July. Ducati is not going to miss this opportunity and will also be celebrating its 100th anniversary there.
To mark the occasion, six Superbike riders travelled to the south of England to take part in the Goodwood Hill Climb. As a symbol of Ducati’s current racing successes and as a tribute to its glorious past, the riders raced up the hill on a selection of historic and modern Ducati racing motorbikes spanning more than two decades of racing history.
Nicolo Bulega rode a Ducati Panigale V2 – the bike on which he became Supersport World Champion in 2023. His Aruba team-mate Iker Lecuona rode the 2008 Ducati 1098RS F08. Two-time Superbike World Champion Alvaro Bautista took to the track on the 2006 Desmosedici GP06 MotoGP bike.
British riders Tarran Mackenzie and Tommy Bridewell each represented different generations of Ducati’s racing history. Mackenzie rode the latest Panigale V4 R from 2026, whilst Bridewell rode the legendary Ducati 999 F05 from 2005. Go-Eleven rider Lorenzo Baldassarri had a go on the 2014 Panigale 1199 RS.
Alongside the six current Superbike aces, a number of Ducati legends from the past were also in attendance – Carl Fogarty, Casey Stoner, Troy Bayliss, Shane Byrne, Josh Brookes and Dario Marchetti.
“The Goodwood Festival of Speed is one of the world’s biggest motorsport festivals and therefore the perfect stage to celebrate Ducati’s remarkable racing heritage,” emphasised Superbike Director Gregorio Lavilla. “By bringing our riders together with these legendary machines – and with the legends of our sport – we are highlighting the unique link between WorldSBK’s past and present, whilst also giving fans the chance to experience the championship away from the racetrack. As the British round at Donington Park takes place immediately after Goodwood, this is also a fantastic opportunity to build anticipation for another important WorldSBK race weekend.”
