Next Ducati spot for 2027 secured: Advocates to continue with Bridewell

It was Tommy Bridewell who convinced Advocates Racing to enter the 2026 Superbike World Championship, as the Ducati team had actually been entered for the British series. The decision was only made after the Portimão test in January, when Advocates took delivery of the new V4R from Ducati.

The first rounds proved to be a challenge. The team had been newly formed and had no experience with the V4R. Furthermore, Bridewell is no longer a youngster and had previously only made the odd guest appearance in the World Championship. Yet the season is exceeding expectations: nine out of twelve rounds have now been completed and Bridewell has established himself as a consistent top-10 rider. Fifth places at Aragón and Donington (Race 1 at both) are his best results.

There was no obvious reason why team owner Lee Khouri should reorganise his team for the coming season. On Wednesday morning, Bridewell’s contract extension was announced. “Tommy has played a key role in our success during our first Superbike season, and a shared future together until 2027 was a foregone conclusion for us. We’ve always said that we founded this team as a family and we’ll continue on this path as a family,” the Australian emphasised, outlining his philosophy. “We started from scratch with the aim of competing at the very front. Although we have already made incredible progress, there is still a lot of potential within us. I am proud that Tommy is continuing on this path with us, and we are looking forward to what the next year has in store for us.”

For Bridewell, continuing to work with Advocates Racing is a stroke of luck. At 38, finding a place with a new team would have been difficult. “I’d like to thank Lee and the team for this fantastic opportunity. The chance to carry on with such a great team and continue to develop is a dream come true, and continuity will be crucial,” says the Englishman. “There are a number of changes on the horizon in the World Superbike Championship, including changes to the tyres, which we’ll need to take into account. So there are definitely exciting times ahead! Our first goal, of course, is to finish the 2026 season as strongly as possible.”
