Home race for ZX Moto: local hero Valentin Debise is aiming for another victory

ZX Moto is the surprise package of the 2026 Supersport World Championship. Founded as recently as 2024, the Chinese manufacturer developed a competitive motorbike – the 820RR – from scratch and has already won six races with Valentin Debise. Currently second in the World Championship, the Frenchman is also on course for his best season to date.

Debise is a late bloomer on the World Championship circuit. The 34-year-old didn’t compete in his first full season until 2023. He secured his first podium as a rookie at the Circuit de Nevers Magny-Cours – his home track – finishing third in the second race. This year, the seasoned rider is keen to deliver a successful weekend for his team, Evan Bros and ZX Moto.

“I’m really raring to go at Magny-Cours, not least because it’s my home race – for me, it’s the best weekend of the year,” said Debise enthusiastically. “It’s always something special to be able to race at home in front of your compatriots and fans – and in the sunshine this year. I think it’ll be another exciting and fun weekend. I’d love to be in the running for a podium place in front of the French crowd, but we’ll see.”

Debise hails from Albi in the south of France. As soon as he closes his visor, his southern temperament comes to the fore, which sometimes makes him a bit too keen at his home race: the Frenchman has crashed in three of the last four races!

“During the break, we were able to complete a few test sessions to improve, and I must thank the team for their efforts,” Debise reassured. “I feel I’ve made progress, but we now need to confirm that this weekend.”
