Vellahn: Jörgen-Matthias Talviku (Yamaha) wins Saturday’s race

Saturday’s race at the 6th round of the ADAC MX Masters took place in perfect conditions in Vellahn: Jörgen-Matthias Talviku (SHR Motorsports Yamaha) had already set the fastest time in qualifying and started from pole position. The Estonian was one and a half seconds faster on his fastest lap than championship leader Roan van de Moosdijk (Kosak KTM). Maximilian Spies (Becker KTM) qualified in third place.

Talviku secures a start-to-finish victory

Polesetter Talviku, who was signed by Jacky Martens as a Fantic works rider for the World Championship, lined up again for his SHR Yamaha team at Vellahn. Talviku took the holeshot ahead of Tom Koch, Roan van de Moosdijk and Noah Ludwig. On the second lap, van de Moosdijk overtook Tom Koch to move into second place, whilst Talviku had already opened up a 5-second gap at the front.

Maximilian Spies’ comeback

The rider from Brandenburg didn’t get off to a good start and began the race in 14th place, but the ‘White Giant’ fought his way forward in giant strides, overtook Noah Ludwig halfway through the race and eventually finished in fifth place.

Roan van de Moosdijk still on course for the title

Although championship leader Roan van de Moosdijk closed the gap on the leading Talviku towards the end, he was ultimately unable to get within striking distance and, with an eye on the championship standings, played it safe for a while. Talviku ultimately won with a lead of 3.7 seconds over van de Moosdijk, Jere Haavisto, Tom Koch and Noah Ludwig.
