BMW CEO Markus Flasch on the EWC title: “Above all, it takes passion!”

BMW’s first World Endurance Championship title also holds special significance for Markus Flasch. The Managing Director of BMW Motorrad follows the team’s involvement in the EWC with great interest and is a staunch supporter of the project. Following the historic triumph at the Bol d’Or, he paid tribute not only to the performance of the M1000RR, but above all to the passion of the people behind the success.

For BMW, the triumph in the EWC marked the next major international success with the M1000RR. Following two World Championship titles in the Superbike World Championship, this was now the crowning glory in endurance racing. ““The third world championship title for our BMW M1000RR within three years and another milestone for BMW Motorrad,” emphasised the head of BMW Motorrad. “Following the two titles in the Superbike World Championship, we are now also world champions in endurance racing – the first European manufacturer to achieve this.”
