A look at the current standings in the LMGT3 class of the FIA WEC

As is well known, the FIA WEC consists of two classes. Alongside the Hypercars, which compete amongst themselves for overall victory in the races, the LMGT3 cars also compete in the World Endurance Championship. The nine manufacturers – Aston Martin, BMW, Corvette, Ferrari, Ford, Lexus, McLaren, Mercedes-AMG and Porsche – are each represented by two cars in the field. However, each car must also have at least one driver in its line-up who holds FIA Bronze status.

Following the race in São Paulo, Jonny Edgar leads the standings with 76 points. Nicky Catsburg is in second place with 72 points, and Ben Keating is third with 54 points. The exciting thing is that all three are drivers of TF Sport’s #33 Corvette Z06 LMGT3.R. The difference in points is due to Keating having missed Imola and Spa-Francorchamps – and Catsburg having been unable to compete in Brazil. Nevertheless, all three have scored more points than the rest of the field.

Their closest challengers are Richard Lietz, Riccardo Pera and Yasser Shahin, who drive a Porsche 911 GT3 R LMGT3 for The Bend Manthey. The trio have 49 points to their name. Right behind them are Daniel Harper, Anthony McIntosh and Parker Thompson with 43 points. The BMW M4 LMGT3 Evo trio from Team WRT secured class victory at Imola and most recently finished second in Brazil.

The team standings paint a similar picture: TF Sport leads the way with 76 points. In second place is The Bend Manthey with 49 points, ahead of Team WRT (with the #69 BMW) on 43 points and the Corvette from Racing Team Turkey by TF, also on 43 points. Vista AF Corse (with the #21 Ferrari) rounds off the top five with 42 points. The next race in the FIA WEC is scheduled for 6 September 2026 in Austin, Texas (USA).
