Tyre suppliers for the FIA WEC until 2032 confirmed

As is well known, the FIA WEC is currently still on its summer break. However, behind the scenes, work on the future of the World Championship is, of course, continuing – for example, with regard to the tyres. Following a tender process organised by the FIA (in collaboration with the ACO), the two tyre suppliers for the period from 2030 to 2032 have now been announced. Michelin will supply tyres for the Hypercar class, whilst Goodyear will supply tyres for the LMGT3 category. Both brands are already current suppliers.

Michelin has been supplying tyres to the WEC Hypercars since the category’s introduction in 2021. The current contract runs until 2029. The period from 2030 to 2032 is now also covered. “We are particularly proud of the renewed trust placed in us by the Fédération Internationale de l’Automobile and the Automobile Club de l’Ouest. I would like to thank both organisations warmly for the quality of the discussions throughout the tender process,” said Matthieu Bonardel (Director of Michelin Motorsport). “This contract extension is a strong endorsement of the quality of our tyres and services, as well as our innovative strength.”

Goodyear to supply LMGT3 tyres

Goodyear, in particular, had also bid to supply the Hypercar class – but ultimately the contract went to Michelin. However, the American brand has been the supplier for the LMGT3 category since 2024. This was only recently extended until 2029. It is now clear that Goodyear will also be responsible for the LMGT3 category in the FIA WEC for the period from 2030 to 2032.
