Aprilia in MotoGP: The impressive figures for the dominant brand

Aprilia is currently the number one manufacturer in the MotoGP World Championship. The Italians are dominating the 2026 season, yet are still ensuring a thrilling battle for the world title. The 2015 season saw Aprilia’s return to the premier class of motorcycling, with the Gresini team. For the first two years, Stefan Bradl rode the bike from Noale. Since 2022, Aprilia has once again been represented in MotoGP by a factory team.

Ten years on, Aprilia stands as a serial winner. It was only with the arrival of former Formula 1 manager Massimo Rivola that things really took off. Some facts about Aprilia’s performance are already impressive: The one-two-three finish at Silverstone was already the third ‘podium lockout’ of the current season, following Le Mans and Assen. The triumph on Sunday by Trackhouse-Aprilia ace Raúl Fernández was Aprilia’s seventh Grand Prix victory in twelve Sunday races so far.

Balance among the four Aprilia riders

The fact that the Italians are still relatively new to the sport is also evident from the fact that this was only Aprilia’s 17th victory (including sprints and Grands Prix) in the MotoGP World Championship. Nevertheless, across all classes of the Motorcycle World Championship, Fernandez’s impressive solo ride at Silverstone marked Aprilia’s 311th victory. As for the balance within the team itself: thanks to Fernandez’s victory, each of the four RS-GP riders has now won at least one Sunday race this season.

Fernandez’s compatriot and championship leader Jorge Martin secured his sixth GP podium of 2026 with second place at Silverstone. Including the sprint races, the 2024 world champion has already stood on the podium eleven times this year. Martin’s team-mate Marco Bezzecchi, too, has already racked up ten podium finishes (sprints and Grands Prix) despite his dip in form in June and July. Furthermore, after twelve of 22 race weekends, Aprilia occupies the top three places in the World Championship standings with Martin, Bezzecchi and Ogura. And: Fernández is just 19 points off the top three.
