Di Giannantonio (VR46): Why he’ll be fast at MotorLand Aragon

Fabio Di Giannantonio used the MotoGP break – lasting just under three weeks – between the Grands Prix at Silverstone and Aragon to continue working on his fitness. The VR46 rider also recently completed a training session at the Misano World Circuit Marco Simoncelli, where he rode a Ducati Panigale V4 S.

The MotoGP World Championship resumes this coming weekend at MotorLand Aragon. ‘Diggia’ heads to Spain in fifth place in the championship. With 199 points, he is currently 41 points behind leader Jorge Martin (Aprilia). Just ahead of Di Giannantonio is champion Marc Marquez (Ducati Lenovo), who, however, has only one point more to his name.

“During the two-week break, I’ve been working on my fitness, and I’ve also been training a lot on the bike to maintain my performance level,” said Di Giannantonio ahead of the Aragon GP. “We’re ready for this new race weekend! Aragon is a completely different track to Silverstone, as it has a slower section. The grip is also quite different.”

The 2025 Aragon test marked a turning point

In 2025, the Aragon test, which took place immediately after the race weekend in June, marked a turning point for Di Giannantonio and VR46. “Last year we struggled a bit there during the race weekend, but on the test day we managed to find something that helped us turn our season around for the better,” emphasised the 27-year-old. “As a result, this year we have additional data that can help us be even more competitive.”
