Aston Martin cruises to the fastest time in the rain at Magny-Cours

Jamie Day set the fastest time in the Walkenhorst Motorsport Aston Martin. The Briton completed a lap in 1:54.168 minutes. However, due to the weather conditions, the lap time was not representative, as only 26 of the 44 cars set lap times.

Marvin Dienst set the second-fastest lap in the WINWARD Racing Mercedes-AMG GT3. He was 0.065 seconds off the fastest time.

Maro Engel, in the Mann-Filter Mamba, rounded off the top three.

Just as the second practice session was due to start, heavy rain began to fall at Magny-Cours, completely flooding the track. Consequently, many teams were cautious and delayed their start to the session. After around half an hour, the rain eased off and more cars took to the former Grand Prix circuit.

After about three-quarters of an hour, the rain intensified again and a thunderstorm set in. The session was interrupted by the red flag and was not resumed.
