He’s really doing it! The Lamborghini is ready and waiting for Nicolò Bulega (26)

This coming weekend will be the most important of Nicolò Bulega’s career so far. The 26-year-old has his first chance at the Cremona Circuit to clinch the 2026 Superbike World Championship early and thus succeed Toprak Razgatlioglu.

The crash during the MotoGP test at Mugello is no longer an issue. It is likely that, following Sunday morning’s Superpole race, the Ducati rider will hold an unassailable lead in the overall standings and be confirmed as world champion – given his dominance, with 26 wins from 27 races, this prediction is hardly a stretch.

But as early as Thursday, Bulega will be in the spotlight when he arrives at the circuit in a bright orange Lamborghini – at least, that’s what we can expect. Because it happened on Wednesday: at Lamborghini’s headquarters in Sant’Agata Bolognese, the Superbike World Championship leader was handed the keys. The Ducati rider will have to be gentle with the accelerator – the Temerario, costing over 300,000 euros, has over 900 PS under the bonnet!

The idea came about at the weekend in Magny-Cours, when Bulega was asked about the Formula 1 race at Monza. Lewis Hamilton had also travelled there in a Lamborghini. “He’s got a bit more money than me – just a bit. If I could have a Lamborghini for free for a week, that would be lovely – I’ll have to ask Mauro Grassilli,” joked Bulega in France.

Bulega needn’t worry about getting into trouble with his employer, as the prestigious Italian brand – like Ducati’s owner, Audi – is part of the Volkswagen Group.
