Season opener at the Red Bull Ring – DTM unveils 2027 race calendar

Three countries, eight race weekends, 16 championship rounds: the DTM has published its racing calendar for 2027 and will kick off the season at the Red Bull Ring presented by VKB-Bank. Alongside the Formula 1 circuit in Austria, the Dutch Circuit Zandvoort is the second overseas venue. These are joined by six renowned circuits in Germany. The finale will, as is traditional, be held at the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg. This means there will be just under six months of motorsport action between the season opener and the season finale. All 16 races in 2027 will be broadcast live on ProSieben on free-to-air television. Advance ticket sales for the 2027 DTM will begin on 11 October, the final day of this year’s DTM.

At this year’s pre-season test at the Red Bull Ring, the ADAC presented plans for a ninth race weekend, but never specified any concrete targets for the circuit. This event does not feature in next year’s racing calendar, after the teams expressed scepticism about it for cost reasons.

Against the impressive backdrop of the Styrian Alps, a new title race will begin from 23 to 25 April 2027. Following its successful debut as the season opener this year, the Red Bull Ring will once again host the first two championship races, promising motorsport against a breathtaking mountain backdrop. Just two weeks later, from 7 to 9 May, the DTM will be making a stop at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. Precision and consistency are particularly crucial on the technically demanding circuit near Magdeburg.

The next challenge comes at the Dekra Lausitzring from 18 to 20 June. This is followed by one of the absolute highlights of the season: from 2 to 4 July, the Norisring will once again transform Nuremberg into the DTM capital. Germany’s only street circuit thrills spectators year after year with its unique atmosphere, packed grandstands and spectacular wheel-to-wheel duels between crash barriers and concrete walls.

In the height of summer, from 6 to 8 August, the DTM heads to the Dutch North Sea coast. The Circuit Zandvoort, nestled in the dune landscape right by the sea, provides the setting for races nine and ten of the season. The decisive phase of the title race begins just two weeks later at the Nürburgring. From 20 to 22 August, the series visits the Eifel region, before the Sachsenring opens the final chapter ahead of the season’s climax from 24 to 26 September.

When the DTM heads to the Hockenheimring Baden-Württemberg for the finale from 8 to 10 October, everything will be at stake. It is on this historic Grand Prix circuit that the title race will be decided; it is there that heroes are born and the 2027 DTM champion will be crowned.
