Lingg (Intact GP) praised the team: “Brilliant, even if things aren’t running perfectly”
Ironically, it was at their home race in front of a full house that the German Moto2 team failed to secure a podium place. Yet a glance at the overall standings speaks volumes. Jürgen Lingg returned to the Allgäu feeling satisfied.

As in previous years, there was a buzz of excitement surrounding Germany’s only Grand Prix team, Liqui Moly Dynavolt Intact GP, during the German Grand Prix. Well over 200 guests made their way between the pits, the track and the hospitality area to admire the riders of the 2026 reference team owned by Stefan Keckeisen and Wolfgang Kuhn, and managed by team principal Jürgen Lingg.
On paper, Manuel Gonzalez and Senna Agius had a fabulous weekend, but a victory – or even a one-two finish, as in Jerez – eluded the Memmingen-based team at the German round at the Sachsenring. Before the GP got underway, the omens were excellent – Gonzalez had secured second place on his Kalex in Q2, ahead of championship rival Izan Guevara. Agius also achieved the key objective for the second session by finishing fifth. In the eleventh Moto2 race of the year, however, the tide turned. The battle against tyre wear ended with fourth and sixth places, with the young Australian securing the better result.
The disappointment quickly gave way to satisfaction, as the German Grand Prix was also a resounding success in terms of the championship standings. With Ivan Ortola’s victory, Guevara’s third place and the retirements of David Alonso (Aspar) and Celestino Vietti (SpeedUp), the error-free Intact riders consolidated their positions.
Gonzalez heads into the three-week break with a 51.5-point lead. By way of comparison: in 2025, the lead over the nearest challenger at the halfway stage was 25 points. But the eventual world champion, Diogo Moreira, was only in fourth place at the halfway mark back then, trailing by 60 points. There can be no question of resting on one’s laurels.
Senna Agius, in third place in the standings, lost three points to Guevara, whilst the gap behind him to the crashed Alonso widened. The strength of the team’s structure is evident when looking at the team standings. Whilst Intact-GP previously ran constantly in the slipstream of Fantic Racing, they now have a lead of over 100 points over the second-best team, Jorge Martinez’s CFMOTO-Asp.
Team principal Jürgen Lingg’s interim assessment following the mid-season Grand Prix is therefore more than positive: “We cannot be dissatisfied with the result at the Sachsenring. We head into the summer break as clear leaders in both the riders’ and teams’ championships. Fourth and sixth places are impressive at this level of the World Championship – even if we’d hoped for a little more. Nevertheless, both riders were brilliant – even when not everything goes perfectly or 100 per cent to plan, we’re still capable of achieving top results.”
Lingg, now in his second year working with the duo of Gonzalez and Agius, emphasised: “Things can’t go perfectly every weekend, but solid races like these are also extremely important. Even though both riders are hungry for more and never satisfied, their class is evident even on weekends at the Sachsenring. They would have liked to have given the team and all Intact supporters even more – but in the end they got everything right. For the whole team, the Sachsenring was also a success – one that means everyone can head into the break feeling positive.”
