New CF Moto V4 SR-RR superbike: test rides with Spanish GP riders

Moto2 star Daniel Holgado is set to move up to the MotoGP World Championship next year. He will ride a Ducati for Team Gresini Racing alongside Joan Mir. Moto3 rider Maximo Quiles is also set to move up a class in 2027. The Spaniard, who currently leads the overall standings in the lowest category by a comfortable margin, will move up to the Moto2 World Championship within the Aspar team.

The pair were recently accorded a special honour: they were given the opportunity to ride a prototype of CF Moto’s 1000cc superbike, which is due to be launched shortly. The test was carried out by the Chinese manufacturer and the Aspar team. Jorge Martinez’s team recently posted a short video on social media showing Holgado and Quiles on test rides. The motorbike was fitted with camouflage livery to conceal details.

CF Moto has been preparing for its entry into the World Superbike Championship for several years. In 2024, a 1,000cc V4 engine was unveiled at the EICMA motorbike show, followed in 2025 by the presentation of a road-ready prototype bearing the model designation V4 SR-RR. The motorbike is set to be launched in 2027. It is also intended to be used for guest appearances in the production-based World Championship.

At the heart of the 180 kg motorcycle lies a V4 engine. The 997 cc engine, with a 90-degree cylinder angle, features a counter-rotating crankshaft. The maximum revs are stated as 15,000 rpm and the engine power as 157 kW/210 PS. A striking feature is the active winglets fitted as standard, which means they are homologated and may therefore be used in racing. A high-speed test attracted a great deal of attention in the summer, during which the CF Moto was clocked at 315.82 km/h – figures on a par with those of a Ducati Panigale V4R.
