Valentino Rossi is delighted to be staying in the MotoGP World Championship for another five years

The MotoGP Sports Entertainment Group and all eleven teams currently competing in the premier class of the World Motorcycle Championship have signed agreements guaranteeing their participation in the MotoGP World Championship from 2027 to 2031. This has finalised the organisational and commercial framework for the next five years (as reported by SPEEDWEEK.com).

Among the eleven teams is VR46 Racing, led by MotoGP icon Valentino Rossi. The nine-time world champion emphasises the significance of this agreement – particularly in light of the new rules due to come into force in MotoGP in 2027.

“We are very happy and proud to be continuing this MotoGP adventure for another five years,” said MotoGP icon Valentino Rossi. “In the short time the VR46 Racing team has spent in the premier class, it has developed enormously: We are one of the youngest teams in the MotoGP field, but we have already shown that we are among the top contenders and have a strong, distinctive identity – just as we proved in the lower classes. This new agreement represents a very important step for the future of MotoGP, with the aim of reaching even more fans around the world and making this sport – which is our passion – even more spectacular and exciting. We are ready to take on this challenge and we want to share every moment with our fans, who support us from all corners of the world.”

In the World Motorcycle Championship since 2014

The VR46 Racing Team has been competing in MotoGP since 2022 and has so far secured four Grand Prix victories in the premier class – the most recent of which was claimed by Fabio Di Giannantonio this season in Barcelona. The other three were won by Marco Bezzecchi, who claimed three Grand Prix victories in 2023. In 2014, Rossi’s team entered the MotoGP World Championship in the Moto3 class. The only world title for the Tavullia-based team was won by Pecco Bagnaia in the 2018 Moto2 World Championship.
