Aston Martin, Ford and Mercedes-AMG to be reined in for Sunday

The SRO is adjusting the DTM car classifications following the first race at the undulating Lausitzring. Aston Martin, Ford and Mercedes-AMG are being held back. The car classifications for the rest of the field remain unchanged.

The Aston Martin Vantage GT3 must carry an additional five kilograms. The minimum weight of the British coupé is now 1,305 kilograms. In addition, the maximum boost pressure is being reduced from 1.95 bar to 1.94 bar, which will reduce engine power. The SRO Technical Commission is also adjusting the boost curve so that maximum power is achieved at a lower rev range in future.

Engine power on the Ford Mustang GT3 is being reduced. The two restrictors are each being reduced by one millimetre to a diameter of 38 millimetres. As a result, less air flows into the combustion chambers of the powerful V8 engine.

The Mercedes-AMG GT3 must carry an additional ten kilograms, bringing the minimum weight to 1,350 kilograms. In addition, the two air flow restrictors will each be reduced by 0.5 millimetres to 34.5 millimetres, meaning the car will produce less power.
