Robin Overall Winner(s): The Moto4 champion will compete in the Red Bull Rookies Cup

What a season for Robin Siegert! Having recently secured eight consecutive race wins (out of a possible ten) in the Moto4 Northern Cup – a series leading up to the Moto3 World Championship – the 15-year-old rider from Team Kiefer Racing was on the verge of clinching the title early last weekend at the Motorsport Arena Oschersleben. As part of the Euro Moto event taking place there, the protégé of former racing drivers Philipp Hafeneger, Stefan Nebel and Dario Giuseppetti delivered promptly, right from the very first of what were once again two races.

After Robin Siegert had crashed the previous week at the Moto4 Europe Cup round, held as part of the Moto Junior World Championship at Magny-Cours in France, and had to have a wound stitched up, the question ahead of the penultimate round of the Moto4 Northern Cup was initially just how fit he would be. Well, by securing third place on the grid, the 15-year-old from Pockau-Lengefeld in the Ore Mountains answered that question impressively – and to the relief of all his team members, coaches, support staff and fans.

In the first race, the young rider sponsored by Motorsport Team Germany and the ADAC Stiftung Sport took his favourite position – the lead – for the first time on the third lap. After briefly losing it midway through the race, he reclaimed it on the ninth of 16 laps. From then on, there was no stopping him, and he crossed the finish line as the race winner with a comfortable lead of just over three seconds over the runner-up.

Nor was there any holding back for his mentors, coaches and sponsors Philipp Hafeneger, Stefan Nebel and Dario Giuseppetti, who congratulated the newly crowned 2026 champion at the side of the track shortly after he crossed the line and celebrated with great fanfare.

Of course, ‘Master Robin’ was also absolutely over the moon, which he commented on a little later: “I don’t really know what to say – at the moment I’m quite overwhelmed and just happy.” After a brief pause, he added: “The title was my goal this year. It’s worked out now and it’s just a fantastic feeling.” With this, Robin Siegert has secured his free ticket to the 2027 Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup. This series runs regularly as part of the European Motorcycle Grand Prix calendar and is therefore held in full view of key decision-makers in the World Championship paddock.

Having comfortably secured his ninth win of the season and the title with ease, he found himself in a leading group of several riders on the traditional race Sunday, facing significantly more challenging opponents. However, with the self-confidence of a true champion, he prevailed once again on the final lap and claimed his tenth consecutive victory, albeit this time by a mere 0.008 seconds.

Bring on the future

He later commented on his eventful weekend with the following words: “The sixth race weekend is now over and ten wins in a row is simply an amazing feeling. It was a bit of a difficult start due to the crash at Magny-Cours. It took me a bit to get back into the swing of things and find my pace. Step by step, things got better again and I was able to put in some good laps. Now, to come away with another one-two here is, of course, brilliant.”

“There were loads of my people there,” he added. “Lots of sponsors, family and friends. My whole team and my coaches are really doing a brilliant job. Thank you so, so much for that. See you in Assen.”

The final round of the Moto4 Northern Cup will take place from 18 to 20 September at the legendary TT Circuit in the Netherlands, where Robin’s successful run in the Superbike World Championship began in April this year. As part of the British Superbike Championship (BSB), he will then bid farewell to the Moto4 Northern Cup – ideally with two more victories. Before and after that, he also has further races in the Moto4 Europe Cup on his schedule. Next year, he will compete in this series alongside the Red Bull MotoGP Rookies Cup.
