Sportbike: Bitter setback for Rosenthaler, World Champion Ieraci takes over

“RT Motorsports remains focused on victory at Most despite a setback ahead of the Euro Moto round,” assures team boss Rob Vennegoor. Following an outstanding start to the season by the Austrian Jakob Rosenthaler – most recently with a one-two finish at Brno – the team and their rider were brimming with confidence. However, this weekend the team has suffered an unexpected setback. “The Austrian rider Jakob Rosenthaler, who currently leads the championship standings, is unable to race and will not be able to defend his position this weekend at Most,” reads the brief statement from the Dutch team.

The hot conditions are set to make for challenging and fiercely contested races.

Italian rider Bruno Ieraci will step in for RT Motorsports. As an official Triumph rider in the Sportbike World Championship and winner of the race at Misano, Ieraci brings a wealth of experience and a proven track record. “His familiarity with both the Triumph bikes and the circuit makes him a strong contender for the team,” Vennegoor is certain. “Alongside Ieraci, team-mate Tom Kuil will also be on the grid. Kuil continues to show great motivation and repeatedly demonstrates his talent and pace.”

“Extreme temperatures are expected throughout the weekend, which presents an additional challenge,” says the team principal. “The hot conditions will result in demanding and fiercely contested races, in which strategy and stamina will be decisive factors. Despite this setback, RT Motorsports is looking forward to the race at Most with confidence and determination.
